Ocean Reef Marina
Supporting the revegetation of Ocean Reef Marina.
Ocean Reef Marina is set to be a landmark destination, with the project being in the works for over 10 years. The project is being developed by Development WA on behalf of the State Government, with construction beginning in early 2020. Plantrite is proud to have been involved in the project, with our plants already been put in along the newly completed Hodges Drive Extension, as well the newly positioned Boat Harbour Quays road.
The new marina design involved clearing local bushland to make way for the new roads. Landscape Elements were contracted for the revegetation works which include revegetating the roadside verges to merge with the remaining bushland. The species mix chosen was a mixture of grasses and low growing ground covers suited to roadside plantings.
Plantrite worked together with Landscape Elements to deliver over 44,000 tube stock plants for the project with a mix of 24 species including Acacia lasiocarpa, Eremophila glabra prostrate ‘Kalbarri Carpet’, Grevillea vestita, Hemiandra pungens, Olearia axillaris ‘Little Smokie’, Lomandra longifolia ‘Verday’ and Spyridium globulosum.
